State Approves Eastham’s ‘Complete Streets’ Policy

EASTHAM – MassDOT has approved Cape Cod’s first Complete Streets policy from the town of Eastham.

The program encourages communities to develop safe and accessible options for all modes of transportation and for individuals of any age and all abilities.

Eastham can now receive up to $400,000 in funding for approved transportation projects.

The town is the 19th in Southeastern Mass, the Cape and Islands to have an approved policy, joining Plymouth, West Tisbury and Nantucket.

Bourne and Sandwich are also in the beginning stages of creating a policy.
