State Democratic Chairman to Speak With Cape Democrats

DENNIS – The recently elected chairman of the Massachusetts Democratic Party will be on Cape Cod tonight to attend a meeting of the Dennis Democratic Town Committee.

Gus Bickford, a longtime pollster, won the seat last November, defeating Steve Kerrigan.

Bickford replaced Lynn State Senator Tom McGee.

He’ll meet with Cape Cod Democrats at 7 p.m. in the Dennis Police Station.

Bickford will talk about his role as an organizer and strategist in Democratic politics and his goals for the party moving forward.

Democrats in Massachusetts are currently looking for candidates who may challenge Republican Governor Charlie Baker in 2018.

A grassroots effort on social media is pushing for outgoing Democratic Cape and Islands State Senator Dan Wolf to make a run.

Wolf initially ran in 2014, but dropped out amid a dispute over potential conflicts of interest surrounding his ownership of Cape Air.
