State Hopes to Have Guardrail Installed by End of Day

road construction02SANDWICH – Crews with the state Department of Transportation are working to install guardrails on sections of Route 6 between the Sagamore Bridge and Exit 4.

Mass DOT spokesman Michael Verseckes says the goal is to have the additional sections of guardrail in place by the end of the day today, with rain expected tomorrow.

The additional barriers come after last week’s fatal accident on the road and clear-cutting that took place earlier this fall that left the parts of the median empty of trees.
