State Police Arrest Gunman and Accomplice in Plymouth

156001749PLYMOUTH –  A man and woman are behind bars in Plymouth after they allegedly fired shots from their vehicle early Saturday morning and attempted to hide the gun.

State Police say they were monitoring traffic on Route 25 westbound in Plymouth when they heard what he believed was a single gun shot followed shortly after by three more around 1:25 a.m.

Troopers determined that the gun shots came from a 2002 Nissan Maxima traveling westbound on Route 25 just west of the Plymouth Street overpass.

State police pulled the vehicle over and as the vehicle came to a stop a male passenger carrying a handgun fled from the vehicle into the wooded area adjacent to the roadway.

Troopers secured the scene and had a conversation with the female operator of the vehicle, 26-year-old Jocelyn Morales of Middleboro.

During the trooper’s conversation with the operator of the vehicle, the male suspect, 33-year-old William White of Dorchester, emerged from the wood line.

State police say White no longer possessed the hand gun.

White was taken into custody and a search of the area led to the discovery of the recovered 9mm handgun,  a bag of 9mm ammunition and a knit cap White had discarded.

White was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm Without A License,  Carrying Ammunition Without An FID, Discharging a Firearm Near A Highway

White was transported to the State Police Barracks in Bourne and booked.

In addition to the charges listed above, White was wanted for an outstanding default warrant out of Boston District Court.

He was held without bail and transported to the Plymouth County House of Correction pending his appearance in court.

Morales was issued a criminal summons for Accessory Before The Fact (to wit Firearm Discharge Near Highway) and Accessory After The Fact ( to wit Firearm Discharge Near Highway) and has been summoned to appear in Plymouth District Court.

The handgun and ammunition seized were processed as evidence and secured pending further legal proceedings.

There were no reported injuries.
