Matthew Terry of Sandwich, a Democrat, is running to unseat incumbent State Representative Randy Hunt (R-Sandwich) in the Fifth Barnstable District.
The Fifth Barnstable District includes the Town of Sandwich and parts of Bourne, Barnstable and Plymouth.

Matt Terry was born in Sandwich and has lived in town for 26 years. His parents, Bob and Pam Terry moved to Sandwich from Falmouth in the 1970s to raise their family.
Matt Terry attended Sandwich Public Schools and graduated from Sandwich High School in 1996. He went to Yale University and Boston College Law School.
He spent nine years practicing law, including seven years at Ropes and Gray LLP. He relocated his legal practice, the Terry Law Group, to Sandwich and has offices in Sandwich and Boston.
He lives in Sandwich with his wife Jess and three-year-old daughter, Reilly.
