Anne Van Vleck
BARNSTABLE – Anne Van Vleck says keeping young people on Cape Cod requires offering mentoring and other services to help them stay connected to the community.
As executive director of CCYP, which used to be called Cape Cod Young Professionals, she is spearheading a number of initiatives this year toward that goal.
With the help of a $50,000 state grant received earlier this year, CCYP has begun a series of mentoring sessions and matching young people to more established professionals in the community.
The following is the schedule and topics for Mentor Monday:
January 12, 2015 — Community involvement; helping others and advancing your career
February 23, 2015 — Entrepreneur thinking: start and run a business or think like an owner
March 16, 2015 — The brand of you: Promoting yourself effectively
April 13, 2015 — Managing others: what’s your best leadership style?
May 18, 2015 — Effective network building; Connecting comfortably online and in person
Mentor Mondays require no application and are open to the public.
CCYP was founded in November 2005 with the idea that Cape Cod could benefit from an organization of young people dedicated to the betterment of the region. Today CCYP is the only organization of its kind serving the region.
