Holiday Drive ‘Christmas Wishes’ A Fundraiser for Clients of Child & Family Services

BARNSTABLE – One of the local nonprofits that has great need for its clients this time of year is also one of the region’s oldest social service agencies, Child & Family Services.

Cape Cod Broadcasting Media is featuring the agency’s holiday campaign, Christmas Wishes,’ on air and on our website, CapeCod.com, as a way for people to sponsor local families in need this holiday season.

Child & Family Services Cape Cod is a division of Child & Family Services, Inc., a human services organization founded in 1843 as an orphanage in New Bedford.

It opened a Cape Cod division 20 years ago.

Today, the agency offers 20 programs agency wide, helping adults, children and families coping with mental illness, helping children exposed to abuse or violence, and finding loving adoptive families for older children.

Child & Family Services Cape Cod offers multiple services, including Cape Net Program, Therapeutic Mentoring, In Home Therapy, Outpatient Clinic, Psychiatry, Groups, Parent Mentor and Special Assessments.

In addition, the agency is committed to community outreach and currently serve 80% of its clients– children and families — in their homes throughout Cape Cod.

The Cape Cod main office is located in Hyannis, with an Outreach Office in Harwich.

Child & Family Services served close to 1,000 individuals last year and feel extremely proud being a part of the Cape service community for close to 20 years.

The Child & Family Services holiday drive started last year with Cape Cod Broadcasting and the drive served close to 15 families. That number has already more than doubled just in the first couple of days of the campaign.
