FALMOUTH – Thousands are expected for the annual Falmouth Christmas Parade today and drivers should be aware of a number of road closures and detours downtown.
The parade steps off at noon at the intersection of Davis Straits and Dillingham Avenue and runs down Main Street to the Village Green.
The parade will feature theme decorated floats, marching bands, live animals, costumed characters, and Santa Claus.
Police said Dillingham Avenue will be used as a parade staging area and will be closed at 8 am.
The parade route, including the staging area, will be considered a tow-away zone until the parade is complete.
The road will re-open once the last float has entered the parade route.
They estimate that will occur at 2:00 PM.
