HYANNIS – Members of the Barnstable Street Crime Unit (SCU) arrested three men Thursday in the Cape Cod Mall parking lot after there were allegedly found to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.
Barnstable Police say SCU members observed a suspicious car in the mall’s parking lot and noticed that it was occupied by three men who appeared to be involved in the use of narcotics in the vehicle.
The officers, who were dressed in plain clothes, approached the vehicle on foot and observed what appeared to be the vehicle’s occupants attempting to snort cocaine.
A follow up investigation resulted in all three people in the vehicle being identified.
The driver, Kiranbir Singh, age 25 of Centerville, had drug paraphernalia in his hand at the time of the SCU encounter.
A passenger in the vehicle, Stephen Zine, age 25 of Hyannis, was found to be in possession of four small plastic bags of cocaine and 11 Lorezepam pills.
A second passenger, Aquinnah Lopes-Pocknett, age 23 of Mashpee, was found to be in possession of five Percocet pills.
At the time of his arrest, Lopes-Pocknett was wearing a Salem District Court probation department GPS monitoring bracelet.
He was convicted in Salem District Court in May for assault and battery and was placed on probation until June 2016 with GPS monitoring.
