HYANNIS – Barnstable police have charged a fourth suspect allegedly involved in a Centerville home invasion Monday morning.
Police apprehended three of the suspects at the Dunkin Donuts on West Main Street in Hyannis.
Police responded to a 911 call around 7:30 a.m. from a home on Crocker Street where there was a report of a break-in. Three suspects allegedly took money from a 19-year-old man’s bureau.
Centerville brothers Tavonn and Terron Jackson, 20 and 18 respectively, Jaisyah Hunter, 19, of Centerville, and Hyannis resident Abraham Aylward, 19, face charges of breaking and entering and putting a person in fear, along with armed robbery while masked.
Officials obtained surveillance footage from the nearby Centerville Post Office and other businesses in the area and identified a white or silver Honda SUV as a vehicle of interest.
Around 9:30 a.m., a Barnstable police detective spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts. Multiple units responded to the scene and arrested the suspects after questioning them.
One of the suspects was outside the building by the parked vehicle before he was taken into a police cruiser. The two remaining suspects were handcuffed and were led out of the business by officers.
“Detectives and patrol did an excellent job. They really put it all together,” said Barnstable Police Sgt. Sean Sweeney. “This was almost like a TV show from about 7:30 to 9:30. It all wrapped up.”
Sgt. Sweeney said the vehicle’s plates match the plates of the SUV used in the break-in. The vehicle was towed from the scene to the Barnstable Police Headquarters.
Sweeney also added that detectives matched footprints from the scene to two of the suspects.
The incident is not considered random, according to Sgt. Sweeney.
