PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown selectmen unanimously chose their next town manager at their meeting last night.
Richard Reinhard comes to Provincetown from Washington D.C., where he worked for the Washington D.C. Business Improvement District as its Deputy Executive Director.
Reinhard was one of three finalists for the position, along with Roy Witherow and longtime town employee Michelle Jarusiewicz.
In his letter applying for the job, Reinhard stated that his background in city administration and business improvement district management make him uniquely suited to the position.
His current job is deputy executive director of Downtown DC Business Improvement District, an $11 million a year public private partnership that is responsible for improving one square mile of downtown Washington, DC.
Past jobs have included chief of staff to the mayor of Buffalo, New York and executive director of Central Richmond Association, a non-profit formed to revitalize downtown Richmond, Virginia.
The town is still in negotiation with Reinhard and no offer has been accepted, according to Provincetown Acting Town Manager David Gardner.
