Traffic Stop Leads to Arrests for Theft from Monomoy Regional High School

HARWICH – Harwich Police arrested two men for breaking and entering and larceny at Monomoy Regional High School after a traffic stop late Saturday night.

Police pulled over a motor vehicle for loud exhaust on Main Street near Sisson Road at 11:55 p.m.

Anthony Dearth, 45, of Tyngsborough, was arrested for Operating with a Suspended Drivers License and Matthew Reardon, 34, of Billerica, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Lowell District Court.

At the scene, Officers noticed several spools of packaged electrical wire in the back of the truck and brought it back to the Harwich Police Department.

After an investigation, it was determined that the wire was allegedly stolen from a storage facility at the Monomoy Regional High School which is under contruction.

Dearth was charged with Felony Breaking and Entering and Larceny from a Building along with the motor vehicle violation.

Reardon was charged with the outstanding Warrant along with Felony Breaking and Entering and Larceny from a Building.

Both men were released on $1,500 cash bail and were scheduled to be arraigned in Orleans District Court today.
