T/S Kennedy Reaches North Carolina Two Days Into Sea Term

OFF THE COAST OF KITTY HAWK, N.C. – Cadets from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy are two days into their nearly two-month voyage to the Caribbean as part of the 2017 Sea Term.

Nearly 600 students are taking part in the semester-at-sea program, which involves running all the operations on the T/S Kennedy.

As of Wednesday, the Kennedy had reached the Outer Banks of North Carolina, with the website marinetraffic.com pinpointing the vessel east of Kitty Hawk.

Cadets are first headed to Puerto Rico, where they will conduct anchor drills. Stops are also planned in Aruba, Barbados, St. Thomas, and Fort Lauderdale.
