fire department patchMASHPEE – The cause of Sunday’s fire on Great Neck Road in Mashpee is considered accidental.

An investigation finds that the blaze was most likely caused by a candle or a light.

A Mashpee police officer and firefighter rescued two dogs from the neighboring unit, according to Mashpee Fire Chief Thomas C. Rullo.

That unit sustained smoke damage.
