Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary Summer Camp Registration Open

WELLFLEET – Summer camp registration is now open for Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary.

At both locations in Wellfleet and Chatham, campers will have fun and make friends through hands-on outdoor exploration, non-competitive games and creative arts and crafts.

But most of all, they will enjoy learning from the camp’s enthusiastic, friendly and knowledgeable staff.

In Wellfleet, campers will investigate the woodlands, marsh and coastline of the 937 acre landscape.

Older campers will travel off-site for special activities, such as kayaking, whale watching and snorkeling.

In Chatham, themed weekly sessions have campers ages 4-13 exploring trails, discovering tidal flats, catching frogs, experimenting with science, dabbling in art and venturing to new places around Chatham Elementary School.

Online registration ends on May 15 and call or mail registration forms after May 15.

Each year, the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary welcomes more than 1,100 campers and 32,000 visitors.

Staff members chosen for the camp are enthusiastic, experienced, knowledgeable and are able to work with children in the outdoors.

Campers are expected to participate in age-appropriate activities, including nature study and must follow stated behavior expectations and safety rules.
