WELLFLEET – Wellfleet town meeting voters approved a $17.6 million dollar operating budget at Monday’s night town meeting session, over the objections of the finance committee.
The proposed budget for the fiscal 2018 year was up slightly from the current spending plan of $16.8 million.
The finance committee wanted to see reductions in several line items.
Another article seeking just over $147,000 to hire new two full-time firefighters was also approved.
Wellfleet Town Meeting continues tonight at 7 p.m. in the Wellfleet Elementary School.
