HYANNIS – Have you ever wanted to know what to do when finding a baby bird out of its nest or an orphaned squirrel at your doorstep?

Cape Cod residents will be able to learn what to do when finding animals in distress at Wild Care’s Wild Encounters at Cape Cod Beer in Hyannis Wednesday at 6 p.m.

Wild Care, Inc. is a non-profit wildlife hospital dedicated to rescuing and releasing injured or abandoned wildlife on the Cape.

The organization started in 2001 and has since taken in over 16,000 animals.

About half of the animals taken in are wild birds and reptiles with the other half being wild mammals.

Wild Care’s Executive Director Stephanie Ellis will present the organization’s work as a rehabilitation center as well as sharing information on what to do when finding injured or abandoned animals, along with providing tips for living with our wild neighbors.

Tickets to the event are $10 online and $13 at the door.
