BOSTON – Coast Guard crews medically evacuated a 28-year-old man from a fishing vessel 18 miles south of Point Judith, R.I., Friday morning.
Coast Guard Cutter Tybee crewmembers, based in Woods Hole, received notification around 8:30 a.m. that a crewman on the Finest Kind II was experiencing heart attack symptoms.
The Tybee launched a small boat crew and safely transported the man to a Coast Guard Station Point Judith boat crew.
The Point Judith crew transported the victim to a waiting EMS crew at approximately 10 a.m.
The crewman was taken to South County Hospital in Wakefield, R.I., and his condition is unknown.
