Workshop Planned for Wildlife Hotline Volunteers

SOUTH YARMOUTH – The Friends of Cape Wildlife will hold a workshop next month aimed at establishing and operating a wildlife hotline that would provide help for people who need assistance in rescuing animals in trouble.

Wildlife ecologist and consultant Laura Simon will discuss her experiences running a wildlife hotline for The Humane Society of the United States. Simon currently serves at the President of the Connecticut Wildlife Rehabilitators Association.

The goal of the hotline would be to provide daily counsel on issues like re-nesting animals and helping creatures who are in peril.

The workshop is planned on Tuesday June 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Cultural Center of Cape Cod in South Yarmouth. The per person cost is $40.
