Yarmouth Celebrates Summer with Activities Starting June 24

YARMOUTH – The Town of Yarmouth will celebrate summer with five full days of activities, starting on June 24.

The Seventh Annual “Summer Celebration Kick-Off” runs until Wednesday, June 28 and will also feature 40 three to seven-ton sand sculptures that are commissioned by local businesses and displayed around town.

Summer Celebration Chair Linda Jean said that the festivities are geared to residents and visitors and people of all ages.

“Not only do we want to attract our visitors to come to Yarmouth, but we also want to make sure that we have activities that our locals like to stay in Yarmouth to be able to participate in,” said Jean.

Activities during the five days include a kids fishing clinic and derby, salsa dance demonstration, blessing of the boats, sunrise and sunset beach yoga and an amateur sand-sculpting contest.

Yarmouth lodging establishments, restaurants and retailers will also be offering special values during the “Summer Celebration”.

“The celebration is about the beginning of the summer and how we’re going to kick it off and all of the great activities that are available in the Town of Yarmouth and the surrounding areas,” said Jean.
