Yarmouth Cleanup Effort Planned for Saturday

YARMOUTH –The Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Second Annual Community Cleanup Day on Saturday.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will be followed by a volunteer appreciation lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Combining efforts from the Yarmouth Chamber of Commerce, Yarmouth DPW, Yarmouth Conservation Department, and Yarmouth Parks and Recreation Department has allowed many organizations strengths to work hard for Yarmouth.

The Conservation Department has mapped out areas needing attention as well as route assignments which will be handed out at registration.

Safety is important and there will be an instructional talk prior to deploying volunteers as well as safety information printed on the materials disseminated to volunteers.

“We are so excited for this community cleanup effort,” said YCC Marketing Director Ashley Cormier.

“Uniting groups within our town to execute events like this which will positively impact our community is something that the Yarmouth Chamber continually strives for. We are so proud to be a part of this day again! We are looking forward to working alongside all of the wonderful volunteers.”

There will be assistance from a group in CLI (Community Leadership Institute) who are helping to coordinate larger groups of volunteers and a healthy competition between the organizations.

Some of the awards that will be given are for “best team spirit” and “most unique item collected”.

Volunteers and businesses are encouraged to register online at yarmouthcapecod.com.
