YARMOUTH – A Yarmouth Fire Department dispatcher was recognized earlier this month for his role in saving the life of a one month old baby.
Christopher Ruell was working a late shift on August 4 when he received a call from a man saying his little cousin was not breathing.
After dispatching rescue personnel, Ruell walked the caller through CPR instructions. After one round of compressions, the baby began breathing again.
The baby was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for treatment and is doing well. It’s believed the baby choked while feeding.
For his actions, Ruell was honored with the Yarmouth Fire Department Achievement Medal
