YARMOUTH – A few months ago, Yarmouth Police Department Detective Scott Lundegren received a CyberTipline Report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding child pornography images which had been shared on the internet. The report contained details of the images which were uploaded along with the name of the account subscriber.
Detective Lundegren conducted a detailed and lengthily investigation which involved victims in the age range of 4 to 15 years old. Based upon the subsequent investigation into this report, the suspect was identified as Francis C. Tarr age 29, formerly of Yarmouth and now living in Orleans.
With the assistance of the Orleans Police Detective and Patrol Divisions, the investigation continued which included the obtaining of two search warrants and interviews with the suspect.
Thursday morning, the suspect was located and placed under arrest in Orleans and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters where he has been booked and subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment. Tarr is charged with distributing child pornography and possession of child pornography.
The Yarmouth Police Department commends the strong work of Detective Lundegren, the Orleans Police Department, Google Incorporated, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
