Yarmouth Police Raid Heroin Distribution House

LAURIEYARMOUTH- Yarmouth Police and members of the Massachusetts State Police Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at a home on Jerusha Lane in West Yarmouth, which led to the arrest of a career criminal for the felony distribution of Heroin.

Around 12:40 p.m. yesterday, police searched the home and located a black baggie that contained a clear plastic baggie with a brown powder and rock like substance identified as 11.58 grams of heroin.

Also found during the search was a digital scale and a box of Glad sandwich baggies.

25-year-old Jeffrey Laurie was transported to Yarmouth Police Headquarters, but while being transported, he complained of medical, at which time the Yarmouth Fire Department was contacted.

The Yarmouth Fire Department Ambulance then transported Laurie from police headquarters to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation.

While inside the hospital, Laurie was able to get his wrist out of the handcuffs and temporarily fled from police custody.

He was immediately captured, re-secured in handcuffs and later transported back to Yarmouth Police Headquarters, where he was booked, processed and held overnight.

Laurie will be arraigned in Barnstable District Court today.

Yarmouth Police have responded over 50  times this year to the residence on Jerusha Lane with calls that included suicide threats, drug overdoses and domestic violence.
