Cape Girls Ice Hockey Teams to Play for Charity

BOURNE – With the regular season just around the corner, Cape Cod girls’ varsity ice hockey teams will use this Saturday’s 3rd Annual Cape & Islands High School Hockey Jamboree as a tune-up while also raising money to help a pair of local charities.

Hosted by Sandwich High School at Bourne’s Gallo Arena starting at 1:10 pm on Saturday, Dec. 6, the girls’ ice hockey teams from Barnstable, Dennis-Yarmouth, Falmouth, Martha’s Vineyard, Nauset/Cape Tech and Bourne/Mashpee/Wareham (the latter two being co-op teams) will all participate to raise money for Children’s Cove and the Cape & Island Children’s Advocacy Center. Barnstable will be sending two teams to participate in the event.

The teams will each play a pair of 45-minute scrimmages to get ready for the upcoming 2014-15 season. Admission is $5 for both students and adults.

The schedule is as follows:

1:10 pm – Martha’s Vineyard vs. Sandwich
2:10 pm – Martha’s Vineyard vs. Barnstable II
3:10 pm – Barnstable 1 vs. Falmouth
4:10 pm – Falmouth vs. Sandwich
5:10 pm – Dennis-Yarmouth vs. Bourne/Mashpee/Wareham
6:10 pm – Dennis-Yarmouth vs. Nauset/Cape Tech
7:10 pm – Nauset/Cape Tech vs. Bourne/Mashpee/Wareham
