Don’t Miss Beach Road Weekend on Martha’s Vineyard!

There’s nothing quite like spending a weekend on Martha’s Vineyard … especially if that weekend happens to be Beach Road Weekend! Now is the time to get your tickets for this summer’s cool weekend entertainment lineup.

Friday, Aug. 9 – JAWS: Film in Concert, performed by the Cape Symphony Orchestra.
Saturday, Aug 10 – John Fogerty; Dispatch; Alejandro Escovedo; North Mississippi Allstars; and Mason Jennings.
Sunday, Aug. 11 – Phil Lesh & Friends; Grace Potter; Galactic; Matisyahu; Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe; The Original Wailers.

Events will be held at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Vineyard Haven. The entrance will be located on the Park’s Southeast side off Lagoon Pond Road.

Don’t feel like bringing your car? No problem. You can get to the party weekend by ferry, bus, shuttle or bike here.

If you’re traveling by ferry, you can book passage through the Steamship Authority, which can bring you from Woods Hole to Vineyard Haven or Oak Bluffs (www.steamshipauthority.com). You can also travel on Seastreak, which runs from New Bedford to Oak Bluffs (www.seastreak.com), Hyline Cruises from Hyannis to Oak Bluffs (www.hylinecruises.com), or take the Vineyard Fast Ferry from North Kingstown, RI, to Oak Bluffs (www.vineyardfastferry.com).

If you’re already on the island, you can travel around by bus, which is convenient and inexpensive. You can find the Vineyard Transit bus schedule at vineyardtransit.com. The bus stop in Vineyard Haven closest to Veteran’s Park is called Vineyard Haven SSA Terminal as offered by routes #1, #2, #3, #10 and #13.

Beach Road Weekend shuttles will run to and from the festival site all day long! Take the shuttles from Edgartown, Vineyard Haven, Tisbury & the Airport Area. A shuttle schedule will be coming soon, so keep checking beachroadweekend.com.

Traveling around by bike is a joy in itself! Rent a couple of bikes and make your own way on your own schedule. Bike rental merchant information to come on beachroadweekend.com, so keep an eye out!
