Don’t Miss Food Truck Friday at KAM Appliances!

It’s Food Truck Friday at KAM Appliances this coming weekend, on Friday, May 3! The Cape’s own “What the Truck” food truck will be serving up some of its best fan favorites at KAM’s location at 201 Yarmouth Road, Barnstable, with all proceeds from the ticket sales going to support the fundraising efforts of the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator.

“The partnership between KAM Appliances and the Culinary Incubator was a suggestion to me by Bob Viamari, Publisher of Cape & Plymouth Business magazine,” said Erin Cox, Business Development Manager for KAM Appliances. “Bob saw that there was synergy between us in the focus around food, and he was spot on!”

KAM has been working with Harry Henry, the Executive Director, to help the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator fundraise for the space they would like to establish for food product makers and culinary entrepreneurs, according to Cox.

“So far, they have held two sold-out cooking classes at KAM in one of our six live kitchens, and they will be continuing to hold one a month or so throughout the year,” she said. “We have helped the Incubator to secure grant funding from the state to teach cooking classes to youth at risk and we will be hosting two of those classes at KAM in May.”

The Commercial Kitchen Coop of Cape Cod, Inc., now doing business as the Cape Cod Culinary Incubator, was founded in 2013 as a non-profit corporation to pursue a mission of economic development via education, community, and providing shared-use commercial kitchen facilities for Cape Cod food industry entrepreneurs.

Their vision of the Incubator is to empower culinary entrepreneurship across the Cape. CCCI works to coordinate commercial kitchen facilities, where entrepreneurs have a platform to launch their food-based products in a certified commercial kitchen. They are also working toward building a Commercial Kitchen Incubator to specifically address the needs of creative food businesses.

KAM Appliances has been Cape Cod’s family-owned appliance dealer since 1977.
