Summer Continues on Cape with Environmental Events

Three BaysBARNSTABLE – Labor Day has passed but that doesn’t mean summer is over on Cape Cod.

On Saturday residents and visitors can celebrate the Cape’s wildlife and habitats with the 7th Annual Cape Cod Wildlife Festival.

The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Long Pasture Wildlife Sanctuary in Cummaquid.

Attendees will be able to meet environmental organizations from the Cape and beyond that will feature interactive exhibits and family friendly activities. There will also be two live animal presentations at 11 and 1.

On Saturday, September 17, kayakers and stand up paddle boarders can race to raise funds for Three Bays.

Three Bays Preservation hosts the 6th annual Paddle for the Bays: RACE Cape Cod at Ropes Beach in Cotuit.

This year’s event features cash prizes. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and participants that pre-register will get free admission to the official race dinner the night before at Veteran’s Hall in Osterville at 6 p.m.

The event is for all ages and features many categories. Pre-registration is $95 for adults and $45 for kids. Registration on the day of the race is $110 for adults and $55 for kids.
