CENTERVILLE – Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) Fire & Rescue personnel were dispatched for a report of a brush gire in the rear of 966 Craigville Beach Road about 11:15 a.m. The fire was located in the marsh and was approximately ¼ of an acre in size. Two additional brush breakers were requested to the scene and mutual aid assistance was provided by the Mashpee and Cotuit fire departments and the Massachusetts Bureau of Forest Fire Control.
The fire was brought under control in approximately 30 minutes. There were no civilian of firefighter injuries reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation but is not considered suspicious at this time.
