YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Saturday at 1:21AM, Patrol Officer Jeff Rivett observed a red Toyota SUV operating erratically on Route 28 in West Yarmouth.
Officer Rivett and fellow midnight shift Patrol Officers stopped the vehicle and found the operator to be intoxicated and placed him under arrest for OUI. Vehicle was towed and impounded.
The operator. identified as Ethan J. Bassett of Yarmouth Port was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, and operating negligently to endanger. Bassett was booked at YPD Headquarters and subsequently released on Personal Recognizance after paying $40 bail fee. He was due to be in the Barnstable District Court on Monday for arraignment.
