BARNSTABLE – Just after 11 am Sunday there was a 2 vehicle accident on Route 132 at the on-ramp to Route 6 eastbound in Barnstable.
A Chevy Equinox was apparently hit broadside by a GMC Yukon and then spun around with the left rear wheel breaking off and going up an embankment.
Five occupants of the Equinox were transported to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.
Three occupants of the Yukon refused medical treatment. Ambulances from Barnstable, West Barnstable, COMM and Hyannis transported the victims. Because of the number of injured, a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) was declared.
