Updated: 5 rescued from water off Osterville

OSTERVILLE
– Five people were pulled from the waters off Colliers Ledge in Osterville early Sunday. A Coast Guard helo and vessel along with Hyannis and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills FD boats responded to the scene. According to reports, a vessel may have struck the ledge sending five people into the water. All five were pulled from the water by a TowBoatUS vessel uninjured. They were transferred to a Coast Guard vessel and brought into Hyannis.

U.S> Coast Guard Northeast confirmed to Cape Wide News that “At 7:21 a.m. a crew from Tow Boat US were on the scene to assist, and by 7:42 a.m. the passengers were safely transferred to the Coast Guard 45-foot rescue boat from Station Woods Hole and transported to Hyannis. No injuries were reported. The MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew flew overhead to check for pollution. No pollution was found at the scene.”
