9/11 ceremonies slated across the Cape

Ceremonies to mark the 18th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks will be held across Cape Cod.

PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown Police, Fire and EMS along with members from Coast Guard Station Provincetown will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on September 11th at 9 AM on Shankpainter Road between the Police and Fire stations.

WELLFLEET – Wellfleet PD & FD will hold a short 9-11 Remembrance on Wednesday September 11th at 10:00 at the Wellfleet FD Station. Anyone wishing to attend are asked to arrive at 9:45 am.

EASTHAM – Eastham will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Wednesday at 9:30 AM at the Eastham Fire Station 2520 State Highway.

BREWSTER – The Brewster Fire Department will be hosting our annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony at Fire Headquarters on Wednesday September 11 at 6:00 pm. The service will be held outside of the new fire department facility at 1671 Main Street.

The service is designed to honor first responders, civilian victims, and their family members who were impacted by the terrorist attacks that occurred on September 11, 2001 in New York City, Washington D.C, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

Pastor Rodney Dobbs of the Northside United Methodist Church will offer the memorial invocation. Pastor Doug Scalise of the Brewster Baptist Church will be the event’s keynote speaker.

Other participants will include the Brewster Police Department, Brewster Town officials, local Scout groups, Veterans of Foreign Wars, State Officials, and other regional emergency service organizations. Musical performances will be provided by the Northside United Methodist Church Choir.

WE PROMISE TO REMEMBER THE 11th OF SEPTEMBER

HARWICH – The Harwich Fire Department will hold a brief ceremony on Wednesday September 11th, 2019 in remembrance of the victims killed in the September 11, 2001 attacks. The ceremony will include the dedication of the new September 11th Memorial which includes a piece of steel from The World Trade Center.

The ceremony will be held in front of the Robert A. Peterson Firehouse, 175 Sisson Road at 10 AM. We ask those attending assemble by 9:45 AM.

Light refreshments and coffee will be available immediately following the ceremony in the Robert Johnson training room.

YARMOUTH – A 9/11 ceremony will be held on September 11th, 2019 at 9:45 AM at Fire Station Three at 520 Buck Island Road in West Yarmouth.

Dismissal

SANDWICH – There will be a short 9-11 Remembrance Ceremony at the Police and Fire complex on Cotuit Road on September 11, 2019 at 0900 hrs.

Following the ceremony, coffee and donuts will be served in the apparatus bay of the new fire station. Public is welcome to walk through the fire station and see the building between the hours of 9:30am to 11:00am.

FALMOUTH – Falmouth Fire-Rescue will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on Wednesday September 11th from 9:55 to 10:30 AM at the headquarters station 399 Main Street (Route 28) in Falmouth.
