A changing of the guard at Cape Wide News

By Tim Caldwell

After nearly two decades at the helm of Cape Wide News it is time for me to move on to other challenges.

Many of you became aware of my retirement plans and were eager to know if CWN would go on.

I am pleased and excited to announce that, indeed, it will!

A new team is taking the reins. A team that will take CWN to new heights while remaining faithful to our core values—breaking public safety news and spotlighting local agencies with their community and charitable outreach.

The new team features two incredibly talented men, Matt Pitta and Scott Button. Matt is the news director at capecod.com and one of the most trusted names in Cape radio news. Scott is a great friend to public safety and a talented photographer and cinematographer with international credentials.

I want to humbly thank my incredibly loyal colleagues—Kevin Morley, Jake O’Callaghan and Eric Tinglof—who have stuck by my side through the many reincarnations of CWN. I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge two of our original members who are no longer with us—Richard Copley and Frank Paparo.

Most importantly, I want to thank you, the readers, who continue to click on in amazing numbers daily to get your Cape Cod public safety news.

Even though I will be living in Florida, I will still be keeping an ear attuned to the action, and provide whatever support I can to keep CWN your most trusted source of local public safety news.
