A day after A/C unit stolen in Edgartown, A/C parts stolen in Oak Bluffs

OAK BLUFFS
– From Oak Bluffs Police: “We were called to a residence in the Martha’s Vineyard Camp Meeting Association today to assist an elderly resident with their AC unit that was not working.

The responding officer examined the outside AC condenser and noted an exterior panel had been taken off and the internal fan had been removed. The condenser brand is Daikin and the exact unit is pictured.

We are aware the Edgartown Police are investigating the theft of a Daikin condenser from the Katama area which was reported on August 3, 2018. It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are connected.

We are asking the public to contact us if they have hired an HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) company or person in recent weeks to fix a Daikin AC condenser, specifically by replacing the fan. Any information can be given to a detective at 508-693-0750. Thank you.”
