VIDEO: A nice story about a lost dog and a happy reunion

HARWICH PORT
– This is a story of a lost dog and a happy reunion. It all started around 9 AM Tuesday, when a call to Harwich Police that a dog was swimming in Saquatucket Harbor between the docked boats. When Officer Derek Dutra, HPD got to the waters edge the dog was safely on shore in the parking lot. Strangley enough the Australian Shepard was very scared and skittish, attempting to bite a person who tried to pick her up. Out of the Harbormasters office came Michelle Morris, Waterway Specialist and Deputy Harbormaster Bill Neiser to help with some dog treats. Also a Monomoy Fuel Company oil man who gave her a ham and cheese sandwich, but still no capture of the dog. Officer Dutra called the Dennis Animal Control officer for assistance. Dennis Police officer Lori Miranda was able to keep the dog from bolting the parking lot with some flavored dog snacks and also some Fancy Tender Beef Feast in a can. In the mean time the dogs owner called the Harbormaster to report the dog had jumped off his boat into the water. Vincent DiPalma of New Jersey a fisherman explained he looked frantically but could not find his dog “Blue”. Now Blue decided he had enough treats and headed up on to the Harbormaster’s deck. The posse was able to surround the dog and Mr. Neiser was able to get down to Blue’s level, pat him softly and bring the caper to a happy ending.
