About 1,000 customers lose power in Barnstable, Yarmouth

BARNSTABLE – About 1,000 Eversource customers lost power Thursday afternoon in parts of Barnstsble and Hyannis. There were reports of a transformer fire in Centerville but is was unclear if it was related to the outage. Some traffic lights including the Route 28 and Old Stage Rosd intrsection were out.

Eversource was able to reroute power and quickly restore power to all but about 35 customers.
