Alert Bourne officers nab two for egging cars

BOURNE – Bourne Police report that on Thursday evening at approximately 8 p.m., Officer Krystal Harrington met and spoke with several citizens in the parking lot of the police station. All involved reported that their vehicles were struck by eggs while traveling along the Route 6 and  28 Bypass in Buzzards Bay.

after speaking with the involved, Officers Harrington and Mallard responded to the area and conducted a search for any suspects. No one was located and the officers returned to their patrol areas.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Officer Harrington located a suspicious vehicle parked in a dirt lot near Queen’s Sewell Park in Buzzards Bay. Upon checking the vehicle Officer Harrington observed an empty egg carton on the center console.

Officer Mallard returned to the area and both officers entered the woods between the park and the Bypass. Officers came upon two male subjects in the area just as they threw another egg at vehicles passing by.

The officers announced their presence at which point the males fled. A short foot chase resulted in the arrest of Leo Thompson, 20, of Bourne, and Cody Hewitt-Rose, 18, of Bourne.

Both men were charged with four counts each of Tagging Property, crimes which are felonies in Massachusetts. They are set to be arraigned in Falmouth District Court.
