Alleged drug dealers arrested by Yarmouth and Barnstable Police


HYANNIS – Yarmouth Police report that on Friday at approximately 3:40 PM, based on an investigation led by Detective Christopher VanNess, Detectives from the Yarmouth and Barnstable Police Department executed a search warrant at 8 Seabrook Road (Apartment D) in Hyannis MA.

Police seized illegal drugs—including the deadly drug fentanyl—and cash gained from drug distribution, and arrested two previously convicted drug dealers.

Ryan Richardo Banton, 21, of Hyannis was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (subsequent offense), and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. Vanessa Correia, 37, of Hyannis was charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class B substance (fentanyl)(subsequent offense), conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

Both suspects were booked at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters with $5,000 cash bail set by the Bail Commissioner on each suspect.

A short time later, a person came in a paid the bail for Banton and he was released.

Correia was held all weekend and transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment on Monday morning.

After arraignment, both were released after paying the $5,000 bail and are out pending their next court case.
