Anti-crime unit and K9 Gauge arrest alleged fentanyl dealer

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that 0n Friday, March 9, 2018 at approximately 3:45 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officer Sean Geary stopped a Chevy SUV bearing Massachusetts plates on Center Street in Dennis and encountered the operator Jocelynn Montrond who is a known illegal drug dealer.

Dennis Police and fellow Yarmouth Police Department Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officers arrived as well as Drug Detection Police K9 Gauge.

K9 Gauge performed a sniff for narcotic odor around Montrond which indicated to the presence of narcotic odor on Montrond.

Montrond subsequently reached into her shirt and retrieved two bags of white powder and stated it was fentanyl.

Montrond was informed that she was under arrest on a charge of possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (fentanyl). She was allowed her to make several phone calls before she was handcuffed to make arrangements to have her daughter picked up.

Female Yarmouth Police Patrol Officer Erica Wenberg arrived and located cash hidden in Montron’s shirt.

Officer Wenberg transported Montrond to the Yarmouth Police Department where she was booked.

A further search of Montrond’s vehicle located small wads of money that had been stuffed between the seat and the center console.

The money seized as believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales totaled $280.00 ($230.00 from car and $50.00 from shirt).

The vehicle was towed by Mid Cape Collision.

The two bags of fentanyl weighed 5.1 grams and 1.3 grams and were tagged as evidence and submitted to the State Lab for further processing.

Montrond was scheduled for arraignment Monday in the Barnstable District Court.
