New details: Centerville man charged in stolen boat incident

BARNSTABLE – Barnstable Police report that on September 15, 2020, they received a report of a stolen 2003 Silver hawk 24’ custom center console boat valued at $55,000 stolen from Thornton Drive in Barnstable. Video surveillance in the area captured a Honda Pilot SUV backed up to the trailer, and a male subject hitching the boat trailer to this vehicle and driving off. The owner of the boat posted several photos of his stolen boat on Social media requesting the public’s help. Several tips were later called into Barnstable Police as well as to the owner; reporting to have seen the boat earlier this date in the area of Route 28 and West Main Street in Hyannis.

Ptl. Rogorzenski responded to the area, meeting up with the boat owner. As a result of this investigation, the boat was recovered at a residence in Centerville. Further investigation led to the arrest of a Jason Kokosinski, 47, of Centerville. Kokosinski was due to be arraigned at Barnstable First District court on Wednesday.

Previous story: Barnstable Police have confirmed they are searching for a stolen boat. This distinctive red hulled Silverhawk named “Mikash” was stolen from Thornton Drive Tuesday morning.
