Urgent need for type O Negative blood prompts local blood drives

– Cape Cod Healthcare has reported there is an urgent need for type O Negative blood. There are three blood drives on Cape Cod this week.

Today (Wednesday) there will be a blood drive on Wednesday from 10 AM to 4 PM at the Barnstable Police Department facility at 1200 Phinney’s Lane. All blood donated stays on Cape Cod. There will be free movie passes for all donors.

On Thursday, a blood drive will be sponsored by the Sandwich Chamber of Commerce and will be held in the Keith Yorke Conference Room at the Stoneman Medical Care at 2 Jan Sebastian Way in Sandwich from 12-6 PM.

Friday, a blood drive will be held at the Harwich Community Center 100 Oak Street in Harwich from 12 to 3 PM.

You can give blood at the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Blood Donor Center at Cape Cod Hospital Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 3 PM.
