FALMOUTH – A blood drive in memory of Deputy John R. Kotfila Jr. will be held in Falmouth on Monday March 11th from 12:00 PM to 6 PM at the John Wesley United Methodist Church at 270 Gifford Street in Falmouth. The blood drive is run by Cape Cod Healthcare and all blood donated stays on Cape Cod.
Hillsborough County Florida Deputy Kotfila was killed in March of 2016 when witnesses say he put his cruiser between a wrong way driver and another civilian vehicle on a Tampa highway colliding head on with the wrong way driver. His actions likely saved the life of other civilian. Kotfila’s father is a Sergeant with teh Massachusetts State Police and his brother is an officer in Falmouth.
