Boat fire off Bourne

– A 28-foot Grady White went up in flames off Bourne Friday afternoon. The call near Bassett’s Island off Scraggy Neck came in about 2:15 p.m. Crews arrived to find the vessel fully involved. Everyone made it off the boat safely and no injuries were reported. The Sandwich Fire Boat and a marine unit from Falmouth responded along with the Bourne Department of Natural Resources, the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers and the U.S. Coast Guard. Officials also deployed booms to contain any pollution from the vessel. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

This boat fire comes six days after another one in Harwich (see related story here)
