Updated: Forensics determine remains found at Scusset Beach were a deer

Officials examine the scene at Scusset Beach where remains were found that were later determined to be a deer.

SANDWICH – A report of a body having been discovered at Scusset Beach around 10:30 AM Saturday morning brought a large response from local and state authorities. The body was found in the water near the end of the Breakwater. Sandwich Police and Fire along with Mass State Police and Mass Environmental Police were on the scene. Later Saturday, State Police reported that a forensic analysis of the remains determined they were from a deer.
