BOURNE – A Chrysler Sebring sedan struck a utility pole and rolled on its side in Bourne just before 11 AM. The crash happened on Head of the Bay Road at Bayhead Shores Drive. Officials called for a power grid cut so the driver could be extricated from the wreckage. A MedFlight helicopter was requested to land at the Mass Maritime Academy for the victim who was flown to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Head of the Bay Road was completely shut down in the area. Nearly 1,000 Eversource customers in Wareham, Bourne and Plymouth were affected. The crash is under investigation by Bourne Police.
