SANDWICH – A car struck a utility pole in Sandwich around 1:30 PM Tuesday afternoon. The crash happened on Route 130 by the Sandwich Transfer Station just off Route 6. The pole was snapped and Eversource crews were notified to replace it. The driver was being evaluated. Route 130 was closed in the area and traffic was backed up. Motorists were urged to seek alternate routes. The crash is under investigation by Sandwich Police.
