BOURNE – A series of crashes closed the left lane in both directions on Route 6 in Bourne not far from the Sagamore Bridge. According to preliminary reports. a vehicle rolled over and crashed into a tree westbound about 5 p.m. The tree then came down on the eastbound side causing a second crash. State Police, Bourne, Sandwich, Plymouth and Wareham rescuers were called to the scene. Seven people were being evaluated for injuries prompting a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) declaration. One person suffered injuries that were serious but not life-threatening and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital. All lanes reopened just after 6 p.m.
