Fire breaks out at Yarmouth nursing facility

YARMOUTH – Fire broke out at the Mayflower Place nursing facility on Buck Island Road around 11 a.m. Smoke was reportedly pouring from one of the units when firefighters arrived. A sprinkler system. contained the fire and crews quickly put it out. The occupant escaped and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation. A Hyannis engine assisted at the scene.
