PROVINCETOWN
– Five people were injured in a crash at the Route 6/Conwell Street traffic lights around 3 PM Saturday afternoon. A Chevy pickup and a Lexus sedan were side by side on the island by the outbound lanes when officials arrived. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free some of the occupants from the Lexus which had severe damage on the passenger side. Two people from that vehicle were taken to Provincetown Municipal Airport and loaded onto MedFlight helicopters for transport to Boston hospitals. Provincetown Police called the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction Team to investigate the crash.
